The Big Apple

100_0592_320New York City is an artist’s dream and I wish I could go there every year and explore more of the city’s neighbourhoods, museums, galleries, theatres and stores. Not to mention the choices of places to eat, walks and ferry rides and experiencing the spontaneity and energy that are at the heart of the downtown core.

Where to start?

A Big Bus Tour will provide an orientation of all the best sights and there is also a trip to Brooklyn, a night tour and a harbour tour.

The subway system is a very cheap, fast way to get away from the tourist herd and have more flexibility finding your own way around.

Pick up a copy of Time Out which is published weekly and that will make it easier to figure out all the things to do timeout.com/newyork
